October 6, 2021 – Spatial computing company Magic Leap, and VMware, a cloud computing and digital workspace technology company, have today announced a strategic collaboration between the two companies that includes support for VMWare’s recently announced ‘Workspace ONE XR Hub’ on Magic Leap 2, to better enable enterprise applications on Magic Leap’s XR platform technology.
Magic Leap states that its technology is frequently deployed to deliver remote training to frontline workers, augment designers and engineers, and connect the anywhere workforce in more immersive ways.
VMware’s Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) is an intelligence-driven digital workspace platform that enables customers to securely stage, manage, and support XR devices—alongside existing mobile and laptop deployments—from a single console.
Earlier this week, VMware introduced its Workspace ONE XR Hub, an end-to-end enterprise solution specifically built for XR devices, that enables organizations to securely deploy and deliver experiences with customization options and identity and access controls for employees.
In addition, VMware has announced a partnership with Magic Leap to provide same-day support for Magic Leap 2 devices with Workspace ONE UEM. The collaboration will leverage Android Work Managed Device mode, support for QR code enrollment, OTA updates, application deployment and device profiles.
In a post on the announcement, Magic Leap stated: “Workspace ONE XR Hub on Magic Leap 2, is a great step forward in enterprise XR applications and creates great utility for enterprise customers.”
