March 12, 2019 – Following on from INDE’s large-screen augmented reality installation at Adigeo shopping centre in Verona, Italy in 2018, INDE has announced that its BroadcastAR experience will be now appearing in three other ECE malls across Europe in 2019.
Hamburg-based ECE has been developing, building, leasing out, and managing large commercial properties since 1965. The company specialises in the field of inner-city shopping centers across the European market, with approximately 200 malls managed in 12 countries.
At Adigeo, shoppers were taken on a journey to the Arctic with INDE’s AR experience ”Arctic Explorer”, which was originally developed for the BBC.
The first location of the 2019 ECE augmented reality tour is Thier-Galerie Dortmund in Germany. The AR installation, launched in February, features two content packages called “Air, Land & Sea” and “Ocean Adventure”, both of which place shoppers up against life-sized, photo-realistic 3D wild animals from across the planet.
The following locations will be Holsten-Galerie in Neumunster, Germany in May, and La Cartiera in Pompei, Italy in June. INDE stated in the press release that further shopping centres are also showing interest in its BroadcastAR system.
“When we realised the power of augmented reality back in 2010 there was still a huge distance to travel to allow an app-free experience everyone could enjoy. BroadcastAR was built to bridge that gap and allow collective experience with any action on part of the visitor. It still evolves today to bring engagement and information to people from Guatemala to Singapore,” said Alex Poulson, CEO at INDE.
INDE has previously put life-sized 3D wild animals, football players and movie characters into theme parks, shopping centres, museums, zoos and event spaces worldwide.
