October 30, 2024 – Luminous XR, a provider of immersive learning solutions and software, has announced the launch of ‘FLOW,’ a content creation tool designed for creators, developers, and enterprises to build custom virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (VR/AR/MR, collectively XR) training content.
The FLOW platform, introduced this week at AWE EU 2024, enables users with basic Unity experience to create interactive XR training scenarios, featuring a drag-and-drop interface that minimizes the need for complex coding. Luminous XR noted that the platform is built to streamline VR content creation, offering pre-designed Unity templates, customizable 3D assets, and an extensive library of interaction nodes that reduce the time and cost associated with developing XR training content.
Designed to create adaptable training modules across industries, FLOW’s three-tiered training structure provides Assisted Learning, Practice Mode, and Assessment Mode. Each mode supports different stages of skill acquisition, from guided steps using visual cues and audio narrative to unassisted practice, culminating in performance-based assessment. Luminous XR emphasized that these features allow enterprises to deliver engaging, hands-on training experiences suitable for onboarding, safety protocols, technical procedures, and collaborative sessions.
Additionally, the platform utilizes the OpenXR standard, meaning applications built using FLOW can be used across a range of headsets and devices that support OpenXR. Furthermore, FLOW features multi-language functionality, as well as multi user capabilities, which allow trainees and instructors to interact in shared VR or desktop environments.
Furthermore, for enterprise customers the platform includes industrial-grade 3D assets, avatars, and environment templates, offering out-of-the-box solutions for manufacturing, troubleshooting, and collaborative scenarios.
“Luminous XR’s expertise lies in crafting virtual training content and comprehensive learning experiences tailored specifically for businesses seeking to empower and upskill their workforce,” said Ben Bennett, CEO of Luminous XR. “FLOW marks a significant advancement in the realm of VR content creation through which we aim to empower aspiring creators and developers with the tools they need to craft their own VR training content and break down barriers to offering effective training solutions.”
FLOW builds on Luminous XR’s previous solution, PORTAL, an immersive learning management system designed for data-driven analysis of XR training programs. Together, FLOW and PORTAL provide users with a streamlined, end-to-end solution for creating, managing, and assessing XR training content.
Luminous XR noted that it has worked with large enterprises globally to offer bespoke, interactive, immersive, and impactful training experiences that go beyond traditional methods. For more information on its FLOW content creation tool, which is available now, please visit the company’s website.
