July 25, 2019 – Oculus has announced that Amazon Prime Video VR is now available on Oculus Quest, Oculus Go, and Samsung Gear VR.
Prime members in the US and the UK are now able to watch Prime Video Original movies, including a curated selection of 360° videos. Furthermore, users can browse Amazon’s catalogue of Prime Video programming using voice-powered search.
Beyond the Prime Video library of TV shows and movies, Prime Video VR also offers ten 360° videos at launch and will continue to add VR-specific content. VR experiences currently available to Prime members include the Emmy-nominated short film INVASION!, and Greenland Melting, an immersive documentary from NOVA and Frontline.
Prime members have full access to all their Prime Video and VR content. Additionally, while non-Prime members can’t access VR-specific content, they will still be able to watch anything from their personal library in VR.
To access Prime Video VR, customers can download the Prime Video VR app for Oculus Quest, Oculus Go, and Gear VR from the Oculus Store. Once installed, customers can sign into their Prime Video account and start browsing or searching titles by using their voice.
