April 2, 2020 – Kognitiv Spark has announced that it has partnered with Gemini Digital Technologies (Gem DT) to deliver advanced digital twin services through its Mixed Reality (MR) remote support platform to clients in the UK and throughout Europe.
Gem DT creates digital twins – realistic and functional 3D renderings of equipment. They specialize in 2D to 3D data conversion, photogrammetry and asset management tools.
Kognitiv Spark is the tech company behind RemoteSpark, an industrial-grade, MR remote worker support software, delivered through the Microsoft HoloLens, that enables secure and reliable task support in low-internet bandwidth environments.
Since officially signing on as a value-added reseller in February 2020, Kognitiv Spark stated that this collaboration has resulted in the deployment of multiple RemoteSpark enabled HoloLens 2 units, leveraging Gem DT facilitated digital twins, into a tier-one aerospace manufacturing organization, along with other opportunities.
Digital twins are a powerful method for viewing complex data in a physical space that can also maximize the intuitive nature of MR. Paired with IoT, the CAD models allow the analysis of real-time data pertaining to a specific, real-work machine, system or piece of equipment. Delivering this data, overlaid onto a digital replica of a system allows frontline workers to both prevent problems and fix them once they’ve occurred.
Speaking on the announcement, Charles Jenkins, Director of UK and Europe at Kognitiv Spark, said: “The partnership between Kognitiv Spark and Gem DT helps our clients accelerate their adoption of mixed reality. Together we provide a complete solution and as such the sum of our partnership is greater than the individual parts”.
Steve Evans, Managing Director at Gem DT, commented: “Gem DT are delighted to be working with Kognitiv Spark, their leading-edge technology assists with our strategy to deliver to our clients, best in class products to deliver the Digital Twin”.
Kognitiv Spark is a Canadian company based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, with a subsidiary office in the UK, operating out of Sci-Tech Daresbury near Warrington. Gem DT is located, East Didsbury, Manchester.
