VictoryXR working with Big Cat Rescue to make the wildlife sanctuary’s VR experience available to students across the US

February 24, 2021 – VictoryXR, a creator of augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) content for schools and education, has recently announced that it has worked with Big Cat Rescue – synonymous with the Netflix show ‘Tiger King’ – to make the wildlife sanctuary’s virtual reality (VR) experience available to students across the US through its ‘VXR.Direct’ school curriculum creator platform.

VictoryXR noted that the ‘Big Cat Rescue VR’ experience was actually first released in the summer of 2020 but was overshadowed by the aforementioned Netflix documentary, which featured Carole Baskin, founder and CEO of Big Cat Rescue.

“We are particularly happy to have created this relationship with VictoryXR because they have already proven to be thought leaders in this field,” stated Baskin, adding, “Their relationship with schools will help us reach students everywhere.”

Big Cat Rescue VR will be available on the VXR.Direct platform for schools, homeschool families and children everywhere, according to VictoryXR. The platform is an ‘all-you-can learn’ solution that includes content from Carolina Biological, Rome Reborn and learning units from a holographic version of American high school science teacher Wendy Martin.

The VR experience puts students in the position of being a wildcat tracker assistant while they learn how to find and protect tigers in the wild and assist in the search of a missing tiger through a guided forest experience with a Big Cat Rescue tracker.

“When we launched the virtual reality frog dissection, we won an international award. But still, it’s the inside of a frog. I love this Big Cat VR because we are rescuing fully intact animals and that’s a fun outcome,” said Steve Grubbs, founder of VictoryXR.

The wildcat rescue experience is available now at VXR.Direct and will work on Oculus Quest/Rift, HTC Vive, HP Reverb and other Windows VR systems.
