July 25 2024 – Taqtile, Inc., a company specializing in spatial computing technologies and augmented reality (AR) work-instruction solutions, has recently announced that its Manifest Maker tool for creating spatially anchored work instructions is now available for the first time on Apple Vision Pro and iPhone.
Taqtile stated that powerful new capabilities have been incorporated into Manifest Maker, including the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to help reduce the effort required to create step-by-step videos on complex procedures. Manifest Maker has worked on iPad since its launch in October 2022, however this most recent update marks the first time that Maker has been made available across multiple Apple platforms, including iPad, iPhone and Vision Pro.
“Supporting Apple Vision Pro and its game-changing spatial computing capabilities is going to make it easier to create superior work instructions that will make deskless employees more effective and more efficient,” explained John Tomizuka, Co-founder and Chief Technical Officer at Taqtile. “With the addition of AI and other technical enhancements, the new version of Manifest Maker is more powerful, simpler to use, and a more valuable option for industrial users.”
Manifest Maker enables organizations to capture expert operators performing jobs, procedures, and workflows correctly, and then document and share these procedures throughout an organization. Taqtile stated that the platform’s tools help to simplify the creation of custom work instructions, without the need for specialized skills or equipment. Completed work instructions, enhanced with AR and spatially anchored content can then be exported to the Manifest platform and made available to deskless workers anywhere.
This latest update to the Manifest Maker platform includes:
- Expanded Hardware Support – Industrial users now have more hardware options for using Manifest Maker 2.0, with the platform running natively on Apple Vision Pro, iPad and iPhone. Vision Pro users can also spatially anchor content and information for instructional workflows.
- AI Capabilities – Manifest Maker leverages AI to automatically create linear, procedural steps out of captured video footage and allows for more efficient creation of documented procedures.
- Enhanced 3D Model Creation – 3D models now take less time to create with Manifest Maker and require no specialized skills. Anyone with an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro can easily capture industrial objects and turn them into 3D models for use and sharing across the Manifest platform.
Other features of Manifest Maker include digitizing antiquated paper-based work instructions and transforming existing procedures into spatial aides to more effectively instruct deskless workers. Users can also drag-and-drop 2D or 3D images into the app, and access images and videos stored on shared drives, which can then be imported for use in work instructions. Auto-transcribed text and dictated guidance are also built into the tool.
Through the wider Manifest platform, deskless workers can access Manifest Maker step-by-step work instructions, digital manuals and guidance, animated 3D models and digital twins, detailed holograms, and other company knowledge and resources.
