In Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality News
February 26, 2021 – EON Reality, a provider of augmented and virtual reality- (AR/VR, collectively XR) based knowledge and skills transfer for industry and education, has recently announced a new partnership with the Hassan II Agronomic and Veterinary Institute (IAV Hassan II) in Morocco. EON Reality stated that the collaboration will focus on building a world-class XR Center to help integrate XR training along with research and development in the agricultural sector.
The Center, which looks to expand the XR presence in Morocco that began with the IDC Morocco project, will evolve training paradigms towards an AI-powered XR experience that drives further learning, training, and meaningful research for teachers, students, and professionals throughout Morocco and beyond, according to EON Reality.
Dan Lejerskar, Founder of EON Reality, said: “Improving the training and digital tools available for agricultural research and workers like we are doing with IAV Hassan II will make an immediate and visible impact on the world as a whole. As an industry that we all rely on, we cannot let agriculture fall by the wayside technologically speaking, as modern XR training, education, research and development can all largely benefit those who need it most within the sector. This partnership will hopefully be the first of many ways we can help to breathe new life into one of the world’s oldest industries.”
EON Reality noted that the XR Center supports the company’s commitment to creating alliances and collaborations with local academic institutions in Morocco, as one of the IDC Morocco’s primary missions is to expand the use of virtual and augmented reality within the nation and to incorporate innovative technology into its academic products. Additionally, EON Reality states that the new partnership will help with creating long-term job opportunities for Moroccan youth and entrepreneurship opportunities within the digital economy while upskilling potential employees for the careers of the future.
The partnership will help to develop the XR Center, as well as the integration of new technologies adapted to the needs of agricultural training, research and development based on XR solutions. The current plan for the 5-year agreement is to set up a center of excellence for the training of 5,000 students and 750 workers or internships.
