March 29, 2021 – Magic Leap has today announced that it is expanding its leadership team, adding Anuj Gosalia as its new Chief Software and Cloud Officer. The company stated that a deepened focus on novel software and cloud development is an essential step in the Magic Leap’s evolution as it works to drive augmented reality (AR) adoption in the enterprise market.
In this new role, Gosalia will manage all cloud and software end-to-end development and his team will focus on building an enterprise-ready software platform to simplify integration of Magic Leap technology for enterprise companies of all sizes.
According to Magic Leap, Gosalia brings more than twenty years experience to the role, having led software development for technology giants including Google, Facebook and Microsoft in the past. Prior to Magic Leap, he was Senior Engineering Director at Google. One of his accomplishments while at Google was to help grow Google’s ARCore platform for smartphone augmented reality from zero to one billion installs. Prior to working at Google, Gosalia led the software team at Oculus and the Windows Graphics organization at Microsoft.
In the new role at Magic Leap, Gosalia will work closely with Paul Greco, who assumed the role of Chief Technology Officer last fall after more than 8 years leading the company’s hardware research and development, systems engineering, manufacturing and supply chain. Greco will continue to have responsibility for all Hardware and will now also lead all next generation systems.
Gosalia will also work with Tracey Trewin who joined Magic Leap last month as Chief Product Officer, leading product and platform vision and strategy including the product management, product research, data science and product marketing functions.
