September 10, 2020 – Sensorium Corporation has today announced that it has opened its doors for Unreal Engine developers to create content for the Sensorium Galaxy, a social virtual reality (VR) platform that provides users with access to a multi-user alternate universe.

The public launch of the platform is scheduled for the first half of 2021 with the release of two worlds: PRISM and Motion, both of which are built in close collaboration with entertainment industry leaders including Yann Pissenem – the creator of Ushuaïa Ibiza and Hï Ibiza nightlife hubs, and music streaming service TIDAL owned by artists such as JAY-Z, Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Daft Punk and others.

Sensorium Corporation is developing new worlds and activities to enrich the user experience. In order to realize the full potential of building a multi-level virtual world, the company is now inviting Unreal Engine developers to join efforts in building the social VR platform within the Sensorium “Creators Program.” The Sensorium Creators Program is a partnership initiative with Epic Games, creators of Unreal Engine, and is designed to leverage the creativity of talented VR developers and further develop the Sensorium Galaxy social VR platform.

As an initial step, Sensorium Corporation states that it will be looking at the different options for integrating projects powered by Unreal Engine into the Sensorium Galaxy platform. The company noted that these options will include considering selected projects from the program for acquisition, investment or joint development agreements. Furthermore, partners selected through the company’s Creators Program will get the chance to develop their own locations within Sensorium Galaxy, allowing them to benefit from the opportunity to attract new audiences, increase monetization, and make use of the new marketing tools built in the Sensorium platform, according to Sensorium Corporation.

In order to join, projects need to meet a number of criteria. These include focusing on multiplayer, PvP, and cross-platform compatibility in the form of simulation, puzzle, educational and musical experiences. Applications can be submitted on Sensorium Corporation’s website from September 10 to December 10. Results will be published by January 15, 2021.

Brian Kean, Chief Communications Officer at Sensorium Corporation, commented: “VR technology gives us tremendous possibilities that are only limited by human imagination. We can build endless worlds and give users unlimited opportunities for self-expression. We want to work with the best Unreal Engine developers willing to build this ambitious multiverse with us. As part of the program, we are ready to consider projects of all sizes and find the best ways to work with each of them.”

Founded by Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov, the development of the Sensorium Galaxy began in 2018. The VR media platform has since received USD $100 million in investments, and the industry is waiting to see if it will be a solid rival contender to Facebook’s Horizon project.
