March 14, 2019 – Trivver has announced that its Software Development Kit (SDK) for Unreal Engine is now available. Customers can now create 3D assets for Trivver’s extended reality (XR) ad platform using Unreal Engine. The ad platform is currently compatible with Unity, and allows ad agencies, networks and advertisers to create and run ad campaigns in XR environments.
Trivver states that its XR ad platform enables companies to monetise digital environments via what the company calls ‘non-disruptive’ advertising. Customers can upload a single 3D object or asset to Trivver’s ad exchange. The platform then has the ability to deploy these assets and dynamically render them to automatically fit any environment on any device within an XR setting.
The company’s interactive branded smart object technology gathers user data generated within XR locations such as 3D environments, augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality. Trivver’s smart objects consist of 3D interactive products, in-game billboards that activate additional product information when engaged, and in-game videos that can be personalized to each user. The company states that its ad platform can deploy 3D assets and dynamically render them to automatically fit any environment on any device.
Trivver Founder and CEO, Joel LaMontagne, said: “With the enormous amount of developers using Unreal, we are excited to launch the Trivver Unreal SDK to deliver the most cutting edge ad platform on the market today. With the SDK now complete, Trivver is looking forward to helping developers of all sizes easily monetize their content in ways that up until now, have been extremely painful and inefficient to implement. In addition, our Unreal SDK also opens the doors for brands to easily and effectively advertise their products within the rapidly growing gaming and other vertical markets.”
Trivver stated in its press release that for advertisers, the experience of creating and deploying 3D branded content via Trivver’s XR ad exchange is “as easy and familiar as implementing advertising on platforms such as Google AdWords and Facebook Ads”. Trivver’s platform grants advertisers the ability to reach audiences and specify targets within XR environments. Real-time data aggregation also tracks and measures users within XR. Additionally, Trivver also includes anti-ad fraud technology, which is supposed to ensure that branded content is viewed and engaged by actual consumers, as opposed to fraudulent bots, which can result in wasted ad costs.
Furthermore, for content developers, Trivver has said that producers now have the potential to leverage their 3D environments to attract advertisers and monetize immersive experiences through the platform. Trivver’s ‘piggy-backing’ system combines all XR environments from participating developers to create a network of XR users, and gives developers the ability to earn advertising revenue from the start of a project.
