HTC VIVE and Virtualware Expand Enterprise XR Efforts with New Enterprise Simulation Lab

In General XR News

January 30, 2025 – HTC VIVE, a provider of premium virtual and mixed reality (VR/MR) hardware and software solutions, and Virtualware, a European enterprise XR solutions provider, have recently announced the inauguration of their first Enterprise Simulation Lab at the HTC VIVE Americas Headquarters in Berkeley, California.

The companies first announced their partnership in October last year. The recent inauguration marks the beginning of their collaboration efforts for 2025, and reflects what the companies state is a shared mission to accelerate the adoption of immersive technologies within the Americas market.

The Enterprise Simulation Lab is a space designed to showcase the capabilities of HTC VIVE’s VR/MR solutions and hardware with VIROO, Virtualware’s enterprise XR software platform. VIROO provides companies and institutions with secure access to immersive technology through public or private cloud services or through an on-premises server architecture. The platform provides multiple ready-to-use applications for users, as well as tools for developers to create, manage and distribute their own custom multi-user XR simulation and digital twin applications.

Fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the new lab provides a place to host immersive demonstrations that empower enterprises and institutions to unlock the potential of immersive learning, workforce development, and industrial training, according to HTC VIVE.

“This new Enterprise Simulation Lab in Berkeley is more than just a demonstration room—it’s the start of a journey to revolutionize how institutions and enterprises approach immersive learning and training. We are excited to see how this collaboration will shape the future of XR in 2025 and beyond.” said Daniel O’Brien, President of HTC VIVE Americas.

The HTC VIVE and VIROO Enterprise Simulation Lab marks the first step in a broader strategy between HTC VIVE and Virtualware to accelerate the adoption of enterprise XR solutions globally. HTC VIVE added that the collaboration reinforces the companies’ shared vision of driving innovation and creating opportunities for organizations to grow sustainably through intuitive training experiences.

“Immersive education and workforce development are becoming increasingly critical as universities, colleges, and vocational schools, often supported by government and economic development organizations, seek cutting-edge tools to equip the next generation,” added John A. Cunningham, President of Virtualware USA.

HTC VIVE stated that as both companies continue to build on the partnership, the Enterprise Simulation Lab will set the foundation for joint initiatives aimed at fostering innovation and addressing the evolving needs of the XR ecosystem.
