Virtuix’s New VR Experience Turns Your Living Room Into a Walking Tour of Iconic Landmarks

In Virtual Reality News

March 4, 2025 –  Virtuix, the developer of the Omni One full-body virtual reality (VR) treadmill and gaming system, has today announced the launch of ‘TREKS,’ an immersive tourism experience that lets players walk through some of the world’s most iconic destinations using the Omni One VR system.

Available exclusively on the Omni One platform starting March 6, TREKS offers a way for users to experience each location step by step from the comfort of their own homes. According to Virtuix, one hour of walking in TREKS burns about 500 calories on average.

At launch, players will embark on guided virtual tours and experience locations as if they were really there, whether hiking the Grand Canyon, strolling through Central Park, or wandering the ancient halls of Fort Masmak.

The first release of TREKS includes the following locations:

  • Grand Canyon – Walk the trails and look out over the cliffs of this natural wonder.
  • Niagara Falls – Experience the falls from both the American and Canadian sides.
  • New York City – Tour famous landmarks including the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park, and the Brooklyn Bridge.
  • Saudi Arabia – Step into Fort Masmak and explore the architecture of Al Rajhi Mosque.

Virtuix stated that it plans to expand the world of TREKS with additional locations released over time as DLC, with future updates introducing new landmarks, historical sites, and natural wonders for players to explore.

“With TREKS, you’re not just watching these destinations—you’re moving through them,” said Jan Goetgeluk, CEO of Virtuix. “It’s a great way to stay active while exploring some of the world’s most iconic places. Fitness and adventure go hand in hand, and TREKS brings that to life in a whole new way.”

Starting this week, TREKS will be available exclusively on the Omni One Game Store for USD $29.99. The company added that additional DLC locations will be announced in the coming months.
