March 3, 2025 — Doublepoint Technologies, a provider of gesture technology, has made multiple announcements today at MWC25 Barcelona, including the launch of its new WowMouse Pro app, a partnership with chip manufacturer Ambiq, and the appointment of former Meta executive Yiannis Pagkalos as chief commercial officer.
WowMouse Pro Expands Gesture Control for WearOS Smartwatches
Building on the company’s original WowMouse app, which transformed Android smartwatches into gestural input devices for augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), Doublepoint is introducing ‘WowMouse Pro,’ a premium version offering expanded gesture control and customization for WearOS smartwatches.
New features allow users to:
- Flick to scroll and Navigate pages with a wrist flick.
- Double tap to assign custom actions for hands-free control.
- Media mode for adjusting music playback with hand movements.
- Customization options that allow WowMouse Pro to be tailored for individual user needs.
WowMouse Pro is available for download on the Google Play Store for USD $4.99. Attendees at MWC this week will also be able to test the app at Doublepoint’s booth (Hall 8.1, 4YFN Stand 8.1B60.12).
“The launch of WowMouse Pro for WearOS smartwatches is a direct response to user feedback,” said Ohto Pentikäinen, co-founder and CEO of Doublepoint. “Our community asked for more power and flexibility, and this upgrade delivers. It marks an important milestone for us in taking WowMouse to the next level, to further expand consumer demand for a robust wrist-based gesture control experience.”
Ambiq Partnership Brings Low-Power Gesture Control
Doublepoint has also announced a partnership with Ambiq wherein the company will integrate its gesture-recognition algorithms into Ambiq’s low-power system-on-chips (SoCs) to enable low-latency gesture control with minimal power consumption by leveraging the company’s Apollo510 chip.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Ambiq team for the partnership and joint mission,” said Pentikäinen. “This partnership shows just how much potential there is for gesture-enabled solutions to transform how we interact with technology every day, also in low power environments. We’re committed to creating solutions for wearable products that push those boundaries even further.”
“Doublepoint’s work in advancing gesture recognition technology offers exciting possibilities for wearables and consumers,” added Mike Kenyon, EVP of Sales at Ambiq. “We’re thrilled to join forces with them in leveraging our low-power SPOT platform and making Doublepoint’s sophisticated technology possible in battery-constrained devices.”
Yiannis Pagkalos Joins Doublepoint as Chief Commercial Officer
Additionally, Doublepoint has announced the appointment of Yiannis Pagkalos as chief commercial officer to support its expansion and industry partnerships. Pagkalos previously served as director of business development and product partnerships at Meta, where he contributed to the development of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica. Doublepoint added that Pagkalos also held leadership roles at Google, working on projects including Stadia, Google Home, Chromecast, and Google Fiber.
Based in the U.S., Pagkalos will focus on expanding Doublepoint’s commercial strategy and industry collaborations, with an aim of accelerating gesture control adoption in consumer and enterprise markets.
